Trichology is:

The study of hair & scalp disorders. The paramedical scientific study of hair, hair loss, and associated scalp problems, established in 1902. Perceived as the “bridge between cosmetology & dermatology.” Trichology encompasses the study of the diseases of the human hair & scalp, as well as the assessment of the causes and treatment of these disorders.

With 20 years of experience serving the Tampa Bay area, I, Thao Nguyen, am a licensed Cosmetologist, Professional Beauty Educator, and Trichologist specializing in Hair Loss and scalp health. Starting my education in Paul Mitchell, L’ANZA, Vidal Sasson, United States Trichology Institute and certified with the American Medical Certification Association.

My passion for understanding the connection between the scalp, hair, lifestyle, and overall wellness led me to the field of trichology. Today, I help clients experiencing hair thinning, excessive shedding, alopecia, dry or itchy scalp, dandruff, inflammation, and other scalp conditions better understand the possible factors affecting their hair and scalp.

Using a multi-therapeutic, client-centered approach, I look beyond the surface to consider lifestyle, nutrition, stress, hair care routines, product use, and scalp health. Each client receives personalized attention, education, and a customized scalp and hair wellness plan designed to support a healthier environment for natural hair growth.

Having proudly served clients throughout Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Brandon, Riverview, and the greater Tampa Bay area for my entire career, I combine extensive cosmetology experience, professional education, and specialized trichology knowledge to provide compassionate guidance for people navigating hair loss and scalp concerns.
